BOOK REVIEW: The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

It’s been a while since I published a book review on here. That’s because it’s been a while since I read a book. A whole year in fact. For many years I was a voracious reader but motherhood has really taken a bite out of my time and my ability to concentrate (hence TV series’ over movies of late too). When Mrs O Senior gave me The Testaments for Christmas I decided it was time to break the drought and put some effort into reading again.

TV REVIEW: The Handmaid’s Tale – Season 3

Season three of The Handmaid’s Tale sees June (Elisabeth Moss) handed over to rebellious Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) as a handmaid. Here she bonds with Lawrence’s mentally ill wife, Eleanor (Julie Dretzin) and plots ways to see her stolen daughter. Meanwhile Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) and Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) fight to get Nicole back from Canada where Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley) are taking care of her.

TV REVIEW: The Handmaid’s Tale – Season 2

Season two of The Handmaid’s Tale picks up with the handmaids facing punishment for their refusal to stone Janine (Madeline Brewer) to death. June (Elisabeth Moss) is spared due to her pregnancy but the growing child inside her means her relationships with Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski), Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and Nick (Max Minghella) become ever more complex.

TV REVIEW: The Handmaid’s Tale – Season 1

I started watching The Handmaid’s Tale when it was first shown on Channel 4 but we went away on a series of holidays around when the last couple of episodes went up and I was not able to watch them before Channel 4 craftily removed them. Recently the whole boxset of the first season went up onto Now TV so I decided to rewatch the episodes I had watched previously and finish the season.
