Once again it was a week of two halves. It started out roasting hot and then cooled down considerably as the week went on. I definitely preferred the cooler half, even though it rained and I am hoping the cooler weather sticks around a bit.
This was a week of two halves temperature wise. Monday and Tuesday were cool and a bit rainy and then suddenly midweek the heatwave came back and it looks like it’s here to stay until the middle of next week. I was rather enjoying the cooler weather. I even managed to wear some trousers!
This week was roasting hot once again. I am continuing to work from home two days a week so I only have three outfits. I also travelled to Leeds for work on Tuesday so I have weird hotel room pictures again. Praying for slightly cooler weather next week.
This week my team moved floors within our office. We’ve been taking up more space than we should have been and have been relegated to a smaller group of desks. This has had two consequences for me. The first is that the floor I am now based on does not have a selfie mirror so I have to sneak up to the floor I used to be on for photos. The second is that there are not enough desks for all of us to come in 4 or 5 days a week so it’s now likely I will be working from home twice a week on most weeks, which means one less outfit.
It was another scorcher this week in London, so once again I wore some of my summeriest clothes. On Tuesday my department at work had a picnic in Regent’s Park so I even got to rock my dungarees!
This week has been an absolute scorcher in London. In many places in the world temperatures in the upper 20’s wouldn’t be considered a heatwave but in the UK that definitely counts as high summer. I can’t stand being hot so I made sure I dressed accordingly. It was a great excuse to get my shorts out! I did make an effort to be a bit more conservative on Monday because I was invited to a “new starter breakfast” by our director from work at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants so I wanted to make sure I looked the part.
Only two outfits this week. Monday was a bank holiday so I didn’t go to work and on Wednesday I was in the Leeds office, which does not have a god bathroom selfie mirror… and I am back to working from home on Fridays. The weather has been quite nice but still a bit unpredictable so I have been looking for outfits that work well for in-between weather and also with the fact that it’s a lot colder when I leave the house at 7am than when I get home at 6pm.
It’s been three weeks since I posted one of these and it seems a bit much trying to go back and post everything I wore in that time so I have picked five highlights. As you’ll see the weather has been somewhat up and down in that time. Those of you who might have wondered, I did manage to find selfie mirror at my new office, although I am not completely sold on the lighting and there are definitely more women to use the bathroom so I have to pick my moments wisely.
This might be the last what I wore to work this week. This is my last few days in my current job before I start a new job next week. I am not sure what the bathroom situation is going to be like and whether I will be able to take pictures. I guess we’ll see.
This has definitely been a week of two halves. On Monday it was still pretty chilly, Tuesday was middling and then we got hit with full summer! I don’t think I adjusted fast enough and by Wednesday afternoon I was BOILING. I also look a bit bedraggled since the warmer weather has meant my hayfever is in full force and I can’t stop sneezing!
Another week of really changeable weather, varying between massive rain showers and sunshine but then also rather a lot of wind. I am sure in past years by April I had downgraded from a coat to a jacket but I am not sure that is happening any time in the near future here. Sigh. Read more…
Another week of random weather. I am starting to think it might never be spring. I swear by this time last year I had moved from full coat to jacket already but I am still in a big coat. Let’s hope April brings some better weather! Read more…
Only three outfits this week as I was only in the office for three days. It was a bit of a week of two halves. Monday was freezing after the weekend of snow and then it progressively warmed up during the week. I wasn’t really expecting to be wearing Uggs in March and I can’t even put them away yet as it’s supposed to snow again next weekend. Like my final picture says, I dream of wearing an outfit with no tights!
Over the weekend I watched an episode of America’s Next Top Model where Tyra Banks gave some tips on how to take better mirror selfies. One of her suggestions was to drop your phone down when you want to show the whole outfit from the side. I decided to give it a go this week… and I am not sure about the results. My Instagram followers weren’t sure either and I got mixed reviews. What do you guys think?
There was no “What I wore to work” post last week because I never actually physically made it into the office. I spent the first two days of the week in our Dusseldorf office (which was nice because they have an in-house barista and unlimited coffee). Then it snowed like the end of days and I wasn’t actually able to travel to work for the rest of the week and spent my time in front of my laptop in sweatpants #sorrynotsorry. This week, however, the freeze has lifted, the sun is out and I am back at my desk… although somewhat grumpy about the fact that my fringe has grown like a weed and I look like a shaggy dog. This week had been miserable and pretty cold again. I am normally a winter fan, but even I am looking forward to when the weather is a bit warmer and I can actually wear a dress or skirt without tights. In the meantime though I am still trying to balance fashion with not freezing my arse off.
This week there are only two outfits because I was in Havant again but this time for two days. This is also why my blog is a bit sparse at the moment but I am hoping not to have to go down again any time soon and to get back into my normal routine a bit. Read more…
I made another trip to Havant this week Wednesday so I am once again missing an outfit picture for the week. It wouldn’t have been a very happy picture though since there were horrible train delays and the weather was vile. You’ve missed out on nothing!
Last week I did actually do four days of travelling in to work. For one of them I went to the Havant office of the company I work for and they don’t have a photo friendly bathroom so no picture of Wednesday. It was freezing this week because of big, windy storms and I haven’t been feeling very well so I think my outfits are more subdued this week… except for when I wore my lucky dress for a slightly secret reason that I can’t tell you about yet.
Last week was a bit of an odd one for me. I only actually went to my office two days of the week as I had to travel to Berlin for my annual work conference. I was nominated to present on stage in front of over 2,000 people so I had to spend a day in rehearsals before the actual big day of speaking. This was followed by an evening event where we all got very dressed up… so I have cheated a little and included my evening outfit in this week’s work looks. I mean I did technically wear it to work.
