Summer has finally started

Regular readers may have noticed it’s been a bit quiet around here but as summer has finally started, we O’s have been rather busy…

Our friends visited from South Africa and Little O made best friends with their daughter, S, who is six. We’d not all seen each other for three years so it was wonderful to catch up.
We went to a gathering in one of our local parks for families that live in the area. Little O had a great time playing with his friends an drinking to their health. I had a great time cross-questioning our local Tory MP who got more than what she bargained for when she sat down with us.
Little O turned three and his friends came around for a Cars themed birthday BBQ
The cake was very popular
And I think he had a great time
We spent a day at the seaside at Frinton-on-Sea, which is only an hour away from us. I wish I had known this sooner as it’s a gorgeous little seaside town with an actual sandy beach and none of the intense tackiness that some British coastal towns have. It reminded me of my childhood holidays in Port Elizabeth. Little O was in his element.
We went to a children’s festival called The Three Foot High Festival. It had seemingly endless children’s activities. Little O could not decide where he wanted to go first but the helter skelter bouncy castle was a massive winner.
We spent some time with Mr O’s aunt and uncle and cooled down in their hot tub (filled with cool water) on one of the hottest days of the year. They made a huge fuss out of Little O for his birthday and spoiled him rotten with a mountain of gifts and a massive cake.
We visited our NCT Group in London for a joint third birthday party. Although Little O doesn’t see the other children for six months at a time, it never takes them long to reestablish their friendships.
We had loads of playdates with Little O’s friends where dressing up was the number one game. Little O is currently obsessed with Toy Story and this Woody costume.

So you can probably see why I have done a bit less blogging recently and might do for the rest of the summer… if the weather holds out!

  1. Great to see you all making the most of the change in the weather. Definitely better than blogging, while you have the chance! 🙂
(Also pleased to hear that you gave that Tory some grief)
    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. I interrogated her. She looked scared. Not as much fun as when I called Jeremy Hunt a cunt to his face outside parliament though.

      1. That’s one to remember all your life, for sure! 🙂

  2. 3! Happy Birthday, Little O. Goodness, I remember posts when you were carrying him…what a grand time. The O family looks healthy and happy.

    1. Time moves so very fast!

  3. Little O. looks like he likes a showman for the camera. How cute.

I completely know how busy summer gets. I just posted a very similar post with what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t been posting as much as well.

Wishing the O. family a happy rest of the summer.

    1. He does love to be the centre of attention!
