November’s box came from The Netherlands. The moment I realised where it was coming from I got really excited. My dad is Dutch and I grew up with snacks sent to us from my Oom Coe and Tante Zus (my great aunt and her husband). I have also been to Amsterdam and loved the food. I was not disappointed as this was one of the best boxes we have had so far.
Max and Alex Choco Stroopwafel

Stroopwafels are already the food of the gods so adding chocolate only made their spiced, caramel cookie glory even better. Honestly I don’t think I could be left alone in a room with these…
Autodrop Bosvruchtrode Cadillacs

These little berry flavoured gummy candies were so good. Jack loved them and for days after he asked for “more car sweeties”.
Chio Pinchacha

I love paprika as a crisp flavour. It’s so popular in Europe but for some reason not in the UK. These were very more-ish and the whole family argued about them.
Roka Gouda Mini Cheese Crispies

Little O was so keen on these that he tried to steal them before I could take the photo. Gouda is one of the most famous Dutch cheeses and the flavour on these little puff pastry crackers was gorgeous.
Dutch Best Pralines

I love coffee flavoured chocolate and these creamy truffles were delicious. There was a hazelnut one as well but I am allergic to hazelnuts to I left it for Mr O.
Napoloen Zwart-Wit

I know salty liquorice are not for everyone and it’s a bit of an acquired taste. I grew up with it though so I liked this hard candy filled with a salt liquorice centre. From what I can tell from the Universal Yums Instagram, most people spat it out.
Holandse Hopjes

Tasting these was super nostalgic for me. My great Aunt always sent them. They taste pretty much like the perfect caramel latte. Yum!
This looks like your top box so far. I have been to Amsterdam, and loved the food, especially the pancakes. But I never tried any snacks or sweets during that trip.
Best wishes, Pete.
It’s definitely right up there with the best including Thailand and Mexico!
