I like: Boobs, trains, cars, jelly, babychinos, slides, kisses, loud punk music
Sleeping has been a bit of a roller coaster of late. We had a good couple of weeks where Little O woke up before 5am and was ready to start the day. On most of these days he also wanted nothing to do with Mr O. Nightmare. I am a morning person but I can absolutely promise you that I am never ready to start the day at 4.45am. I am glad to say it has improved though and over the last couple of weeks he’s been off to bed quickly and sleeping until at least 6am with only a couple of wake ups in the night. Now if only my brain wasn’t programmed to wake up constantly or obsess about random stuff and I could sleep better when he does.
Little O is eating with great enthusiasm at the moment. He is still a total carb hog but he also loves his soup and sausages. He has started demanding “juice” regularly, which refers to extremely watered down fruit juice served in a sippy cup. He’s a big fan of raspberries and also jelly. We recently took him out for a family lunch for Mr O Senior’s birthday and I think his dessert was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen (don’t worry most of it went in his lap, not his mouth). He is still keen on his bobo and is becoming more vocal about asking. We only really breastfeed at home now and he’s not normally interested when we are out and about.
Communication and socialisation
Little O is super talkative and comes up with new words every day. He understands so much of what is being said to him and is quite good at communicating what he wants. His favourite thing is to bring you his coat and shoes and say “out, out”. It’s very sweet except when you were planning to go out just a little later and he becomes rather angry that it is not immediate. His other trick is to take you by the hand and lead you to what he wants. He enjoys playing with other children and has a great time at nursery where he is now no longer bothered when I arrive to collect him. I think he is having too much fun. We recently got to ride a model steam train and I was amazed to hear him shouting “choo, choo” as we went around.
Little O has absolutely no fear and is off like a shot given the opportunity. We recently took him to a birthday party at a soft play and he immediately took off climbing on and over everything and throwing himself down the slide. He will happily walk holding an adult’s hand for up to half an hour and has boundless energy, especially for dancing. This does mean that confining him when he can’t freely move about can be a bit of a nightmare as he’s quite a hefty chap. No wonder I have such strong arms!
