The last ten days have been kind of tough for me. I hit my goal weight, which was really exciting but also really kind of unsettling. I think most people have a mental picture in their mind of what they look like and mine just doesn’t match my actual reflection anymore… which has made me feel kind of weird. I am sure it will pass soon enough but as you might see from this round of selfies, I have been a bit more introspective of late.
Two weekends ago we were at Centre Parcs for Mr O the younger’s 30th birthday. They have all kinds of cool activities there including an obstacle course high up in the trees. I don’t like heights but I was determined to do it. This is my pre-activity scared face. I am pleased to say that I got through the course with no drama and that the 250m zip-line over the lake at the end was a blast!
I had to take out my nose ring to do the obstacle course but I never managed to get the ball back on the end of the ring when I put it back in and then I dropped it down the drain… oops!
When I came back to work on Tuesday I had been gifted a new laptop because my old one was not repairable… unfortunately the new one had loads of problems so I had a nightmare getting going. This is my frustrated face after the second blue screen of the day!
As anyone in England will probably know the rugby world cup is underway. On Wednesday evening South Africa played the USA and won 64 – 0. I was most pleased on the train home.
Here I discovered that the trousers I bought about a month ago are way too big and it was just one of the many things on that day that bummed me out
I decided on some dark lipstick to go with my dark mood and my desire to reembrace the 90s. I look so much like my mom in this picture.
My red hair is kind of my trademark but I am not sure if everyone realises that I dye it at home out of a box. It’s very glamorous.
The best remedy for being in a funk is spending some time with a good friend. On Sunday I went for a long coffee date with my friend, Neil, who listened to all my whinging and made me feel better about everything, hence my big smile.
Ah Monday… lairy shirt… somber mood
Yesterday I went on my first reward lunch with my new team to celebrate a very successful project. We went to Duck & Waffle in the Heron Tower. It was well exciting because it’s the highest restaurant in the UK so I decided to glam up a bit
