Outfit of the week #58: Lovely lace

Over the weekend Mr O and I went to the wedding of his oldest friend who is the son of very close friends of Mr and Mrs O senior so it was a real family affair. The wedding itself was a beautifully rustic country affair held in the garden of a small hotel in Sudbury and a good time was had by all. I was fortunate enough that Mrs O senior very kindly offered to buy me a new dress since I tried on all of my existing cocktail dresses and not one of them fits anymore. This is the dress I chose.

Today I am wearing a fitted, knee length, burgundy strech lace bodycon dress from Oasis with a pair of nude patent leather peeptoe heels from Next.

I want to point out that I wasn’t the only one who looked good. Check out Mr and Mrs O senior.

And Mr O’s amazing shirt!

Although I kind of think this outtake is the best pic of the day taken just as I was trying to stop my wrap from falling on the grass.

Thank-you! Fortunately I was shopping with a friend who suggested I try it on. It’s not the kind of thing I would normally think of as suiting me because in my mind I still don’t have a waist. Lol!

It’s funny until I was in my late 20s I never thought of my hair as being an asset because it’s really fine but there is loads of it so it has a tendency to be wild but now I’ve realised that people pay loads of money to have lots and lots of hair and with a bit of TLC (and some good dye) it’s probably my best feature!

  2. Love love love!!! You all look fab!!! And I adore your shoes!!! Such a great heel! 😍

Thank-you! I always prefer a wider heel. I’m not amazing at walking in heels so the stability helps. Lol! I was definitely glad for it here since we had to walk up a hill through grass and cobblestones from the car to the chapel!

  3. Vaa vaa voom…. you look so stunning….my jaw dropped. That burgundy/wine is your color and looks so good with your hair. Love it!

Aww you are so sweet. I do love bugundy. It has the sophistication of black but it’s not as severe.

      1. Exactly! I feel the same way about navy blue, too.

Thank-you so much! I took my friend with me to help me pick. I immediately loved it but then decided it was too much. She made me try it on though and I’m so glad I did. The outtake is the real me. Lol!
