So this is my last 100 Days of Happiness post since I’ve reached the end of the project. I have really mixed feelings about this. I’ve absolutely loved taking pictures and it’s been a fun and enriching experience. At the same time I think it’s normal and okay to have days that are wholly unremarkable. All things in balance. And there’s nothing wrong with being too busy living your moments to have to document them… but here goes.
Day 91
There is a charity shop around the corner from my house that sells second hand stuff in order to help people who have HIV/AIDS. I popped in to have a poke around and found this great salad bowl and baking dish for only £3. Now that’s a bargain to feel good about.
Day 92
At the age of 67 my dad got his first ever smartphone. I convinced him to download WhatsApp so we could chat. This is the first sweaty post gym selfie I sent him.
Day 93
My friend, Sam, who is the person I managed longer than anyone else left our company last Tuesday. I am sad not to see him everyday anymore but really happy for all his new opportunities.
Day 94
My company is moving to a new building in a couple of months time. We went for a visit of the new building and I was happy to practice sitting in the manicured roof garden admiring the 360 degree view of the city.
Day 95
My work laptop has been on its last legs for a while now. I finally got a new one and it has a touch screen!
Day 96
I really, really love this Dr Jart BB cream but it’s really, really expensive so I can’t usually afford it but I found it for 50% off. Yay!
Day 97
On Saturday I went dress shopping for a wedding with my friend, Alex. It was ridiculously hot so I didn’t think I could survive the train journey without a cold drink. One of the off licences near Earlsfield station sells South African products so I stopped in for a Creme Soda. In South Africa creme soda is widely known to be a miracle hangover cure so we call it the green ambulance. It’s great when you’re just overheating too.
Day 98
Mr O and I both love Bounty chocolate bars because of the coconut centre. I decided to try and replicate them in the form of a cupcake… and they were delicious.
Day 99
One of our suppliers entered a campaign my team worked on into some marketing awards. We weren’t able to attend the ceremony where we were shortlisted so they decided we should go for a celebratory drink anyway so we spent the evening sipping cocktails in the beautiful Ham Yard Hotel. This picture is of some of their quirky light fixtures.
Day 100
I bought new gym socks and then I realised they have my name on them. It’s the little things.
Can I just say FUCK YEAH on the Creme Soda? It is my number one favourite drink of all time. I love that stuff. I am so happy you found some. 😀
I get what you are saying about things in moderation, hence I have never undertaken this challenge. Not every day is perfect lol 🙂
I live in an area with a big ethnic South African community so fortunately it’s really easy to get a green ambulance when you need one. Just bloody expensive. A can is almost the equivalent of R30.
I am glad to hear that it isn’t too scarce there then at least 🙂 OUCH! That is rather expensive!
Awww so sad last post!! But you made it through the journey and thank you for sharing it with us.
#92 – Parents and smartphones… oh boy I loved seeing the joy in their faces when they figured out how to look at a pic, instagram and text. lol Welcome to the new world mom and dad.
#94 – Love that view that is pretty awesome photo! And hey lookin good girl!
#95 – New laptop that is the best feeling ever right next to getting a new smartphone.
#100 – bravo those are some cool socks and perfectly yours!
I think I’ll definitely do like a monthly Instagram highlights post in the future because this was really fun and it’s nice to share a bit of myself beyond all my movie rants! 🙂
My dad is so funny with the WhatsApp. He’s really gotten into the emojis but he uses the weirdest ones.
That’s a great idea. I think we all like to see who everyone is besides the movie stuff, which I find people don’t do as much. Yes that is too funny I always laugh to myself when my mom uses emojis too. She has a tendency not to put one emoji but like 10 of the same one in a row. haha
Dude, you got a Dell! (I haven’t used that line in ages) Getting new tech stuff is always awesome. 🙂
My company is all Dells. Must be a contract. They’re pretty good. Although this one has a touchscreen and I can’t really see any use for it because you can’t detach the screen and use it as a tablet.
