My top 10 movie geeks, nerds and dorks

It is a great comfort to those of us that are less than cool (and that’s probably most recreational bloggers… why would we be writing all these obsessive little posts otherwise) that the movies aren’t always totally focused on jocks, stoner slackers and superheroes. We need some non-mainstream, very slightly obsessive characters to keep things real and to kick some ass, with their brains. With that in mind I bring you my top ten movie geeks, nerds and dorks. Please see below from Great White Snark, for those who don’t know the difference.

      Thanks! πŸ™‚

  2. Haha, love it, great post! I love Road Trip, it’s one of my favourite films of all time. I also love 10 Things I Hate About You. I haven’t seen either of them in ages, so I might have to rectify that soon! πŸ˜€

Thanks! 10 Things I Hate About You is one of my absolute favourites.

      1. I love to watch it but it always makes me sad that Heath Ledger is no longer with us. I love the bit when he’s singing to her then getting chased by security! πŸ˜€

  3. I love this list! McLovin’ haha.

    1. Abbi

      I am MCLOVIN!!!

  4. Great list! So glad Farmer Ted is in here. And I love that chart – Now I know the difference! πŸ™‚ But… Wait. Wait wait wait! Where’s Garth?!?!?

    1. Abbi

I really, really should have put Garth in there. I hang my head in shame.

  5. I find Sixteen Candles such a conflicting film. I love the main storyline but the Geek arc makes me extremely uncomfortable mostly because of the way it makes it seem OK to take advantage of a drunk girl. I think Anthony Michael Hall’s character in the Breakfast Club a lot more likeable.

    1. Abbi

Yeah… it has several very dodgy elements. A lot of films from that era do. I know what you mean about his Breakfast Club character.
