Outfit of the week #5

I love the concept of a maxi dress but finding one that suits my figure can be a challenge. I am almost 5’8 so most maxi dresses come up a bit short for me. I am also very, very busty so anything that has a “boob” section is invariably too small even if the rest of the dress fits and I hate strapless bras so a boob tube or halter neck is also a no-no. With all that in mind, you can imagine my delight at finding the Monsoon dress I am wearing here.

The vertical stripes are slimming, it’s the right length and the top bit is flattering even for a large bust.

It also has a very funky back with a little cut away portion and a row of accent buttons. And who doesn’t love a bit of ethnic print.

I have paired up the dress with a pair of black leather sandals from Topshop.

Note to self: Combing your fringe to the side is not a substitute for a hair cut.

  1. I love your hair and your dress!!! This hairstyle is gorgeous and you should buy more dresses like this

Thank-you! Overwhelmed by compliments! My fringe does need a bit of a trim though. I can’t see where I’m going. I really struggle to find maxi dresses but if there is another one like this out there I will definitely be buying it!

  2. Looks great! Gotta love Monsoon. πŸ™‚
And the fringe looks great, too. πŸ˜‰

Thank-you. It’s driving me a bit crazy. I spent my haircut money on a pedicure though so I have to wait.

  3. Great dress! πŸ™‚ I love Monsoon… Man, I haven’t bought myself any clothes in ages. Always waiting until I “lose a few pounds” but that never happens. Lol

It’s great to have health and fitness goals but at the same time I think you have to embrace and enjoy your body as it is right now. Us ladies are never satisfied and if you wait until you feel “perfect”, you’ll miss out on entire awesome trends… The horror!!

      1. True. I certainly can’t think of one woman I know who’s happy with her body. Even ones who seem to have perfect bodies! Very sad. 😦
